Another budding chef received a gift of delight. It is a cookbook containing beautiful photos and stories from Vietnam. It definitely fits into my category of gifts that will last a lifetime.
Vu's first cooking adventure was surrounded by providence. He really, really, wanted to make the Crab Soup, but we didn't have any crab (and when you occasionally get crab for free, it isn't something you want to go out and buy.) So, filled with understanding disappointment, he chose a different recipe. BUT, just as we were headed to the Vietnamese market for some purple yams, our fisherman friend stopped by with the gift of some FRESH CRAB!!!!
